DAEODON

HABITAT

Similar to large bovines, Daeodon had didactyl hooves, allowing it to traverse expansive ranges of grassland and woodland environments.

DIET

Based on analyses of their teeth, large entelodonts were omnivorous, foraging on seasonal plant life and occasionally hunting prey.

BEHAVIOR

Daeodon were likely territorial, preferring to live solitary lives. Males would be very aggressive, engaging in intraspecific combat including face biting, leaving nasty wounds on combatants.
